More Cake Love

Over the weekend my fabulous friends had a bridal shower and bachelorette party for me. It was great fun. One of the best parts was the cake my friend Steph made.

She was inspired by the Mexican flags from our invitations and I think she did a great job! She also designed, in cahoots with Matt, an NPR inspired Wait, Wait Don't Tell Me bridal shower quiz. Instead it was called Mate, Mate, Don't Tell Me and luckily I won the prize of our dissertation committee member's voice on our home answering machine. This may sound like a lame prize but if you knew us or him it would be hilarious.

Luckily the gals didn't do to much to embarrass me. Although I did sport around a "veil" later in the night.

Wow, that's amazing fondant techniques there. I hate that stuff with a passion now myself, he he he.

You know I don't think I ever asked you want part of Nebraska you're from. I come from Norfolk myself.

and the veil is pretty cute, too!

I love both the cake and the veil. Sooooo beats a penis-shaped cake and a plastic tiara. :)

I totally forgot to get a picture of the inside of the cake. There were 3 layers of lemon cake separated by raspberry - my favorite. It looked good and tasted good!

I saw a picture on another blog today, it totally reminded me of your wedding decor...it's the 6th picture down.

I realize your wedding is coming up very soon, but just in case you needed a little last minute inspiration, I thought I would share :)
